POSITION DESCRIPTION OVERVIEW

The CX Practice Director will own the strategic development of the CX Practice in the UK to deliver strategy, contribute to exciting and aggressive growth plans for the company and the meeting of our company goals and financial targets.  Working alongside business development, sales, project delivery and the other consulting divisions, the Practice Director will ensure NTT Data Business Solutions delivers appropriate technical development solutions and successful projects in line with client and commercial expectations.

 

This role spans the complete CX functional delivery across the SAP suite of CX components as well as supporting project delivery and managed services.  The successful candidate will be an agent for transformation and have the vision to turn current business processes upside down.  He/she must have the strength to influence and own their opinion, demonstrating an ability to articulate the future with an emphasis on consulting development and delivery of future technologies; Emarsys, Commerce Cloud and latest headless infrastructures.

  

The role mirrors the go-to-market messages of SAP and requires an experienced and influential leader and evangelist.

 

The CX Practice Directors primary responsibility is to, drive delivery excellence, and take responsibility for the management, development and leadership of the CX team that underpins other operating practices within NTT Data Business Solutions.

 

He/she will work with their team to meet utilisation targets, deliver projects to the customer to forecast, time and budget deadlines and take responsibility for application platforms, technical development, process management and integration, interface management, application lifestyle management and migrations.    

 

Responsibilities and Expectations

1 - Build successful relationships, work in collaboration, align and agree divisional strategy with the VP of Consulting Services, Chief Technology Officer, Business Development Director and Sales Directors to deliver on all key strategic goals with a specific focus on building growth revenue through the development of consulting utilisation and skills with both new and current customers.  Brings together the power of the NTT Data Business Solutions UK business along with our parent and sister companies within NTT and our business partner SAP.

 

2 - Provide innovation and thought leadership and participate in industry forums, conduct roadshows, seminars, and blog and participate in marketing activities to promote SAP technology and solutions to customers and prospects.  Work with the CTO to evolve the technology strategy including the identification and evaluation of third-party partners and products.  Is able to confidently and effectively present with gravitas and to inspire.

 

The CX Practice Director will drive their team to deliver projects to the customer to forecast, time and budget deadlines and take developmental responsibility for;

•         Application Platforms: In Memory (on Premise), Platform as a Service (PaaS), BTP, DB Management, Installation and Architecture,

•         Technical Development:  Design, Development, HTML5, BTP Applications,

•         Process Management & Integration:  Decision Automation, Process Analytics,

•         Interface Management:  API Management, Interface Development,

•         Application Lifecycle Management:  Operational Efficiency, HA & DR, Administration, Provisioning, Solution Development

•         Migrations:  Upgrades, Landscape Transformations, Consolidations and Simplifications

 

3 - Ensure the Practice delivers successful projects in line with client and commercial expectations that drive delivery excellence and results in meeting utilisation targets, retaining our No1 position as SAP VAR and maximum referenceability.  The job holder is accountable for forecasting, financial control and the ownership of the monthly consulting numbers.  In conjunction with the project management team, with regard to project governance and risk management, the role holder will drive and manage the scope of the project from the approval of sales proposals through risk management and delivery within timescales and to quality for the Practice.  NTT Data Business Solutions operates on a collaborative cross team delivery basis to develop projects and lines of business.  The CX Practice Director owns solutioning skills and provides the resources to the project.

 

4 - Deliver on the people development within team and wider NTT Data Business Solutions, developing technical and people skills to ensure trusted advisor status within a competitive market.  Always aware of new product development.  Ensures alignment to our service offering and ensures skills are brought in-house with new learning events and training.  Manage performance reviews to ensure teams have the opportunity to fulfil professional potential.  Ensure the team meet the NTT Data Business Solutions mission of transforming SAP solutions into value.

 

5 - Develop, acquire, and retain the right capability and talent to deliver a sustained high-quality service and ensure succession, repeatability of success and is seen by strategic clients as a valued authority.  Identify headcount requirements in line with business forecast and work with HR to ensure right capability to meet current and future needs.  Attracts talent through the ambassadorship of recruitment strategies and supports efficient selection processes to optimise the recruitment process.  Ensure consultants with the aligned business capability are developed to attain their professional potential.   Proactively identify and manage consultants who are not progressing in a fair and transparent manner to protect employees and NTT Data Business Solutions.  To also meet recruitment targets.

 

 

6 - The CX Practice Director will drive their team to deliver projects to the customer to forecast, time and budget deadlines and take developmental responsibility for;

7 - Together with the Delivery Management Director be accountable for developing and delivering the project methodology appropriate for their practice, resulting in the consistent delivery of all projects to assure quality, timeliness and success for the client and NTT Data Business Solutions.  Maintains strict change control that balances commercial sensitivity with customer satisfaction.

 

 

8 - Represents the company as an ambassador at Director level in their area of responsibility; works within parameters to ensure company is protected and keeps the overall objective in mind; is able to motivate even in highly politically charged situations; recognises potential problems and intervenes early, brings about solutions; has great personal integrity.  Recognises and assesses business risks in detail and in the entire complexity and takes action to minimize them.

 

9 - Maintain and develop the NTT Data Business Solutions brands, ensuring that the route for client escalation management safeguards NTT Data Business Solutions.  Create, develop and support the sales process for proposition and delivery innovation including NTT Data Business Solutions IP.

 

10 - Engage in self-directed and other learning to keep pace with new technologies and developments to ensure NTT Data Business Solutions remains at the forefront of the market within which we operate.  Share, use, mentor and communicate expert knowledge in order to develop others and make business processes more effective both internally and externally.  Initiate and conduct expert networks; is responsible for the exchange of knowledge within their area, and the usability of that knowledge in other divisions.

 

PERSONAL PROFILE – SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

 

•         Proven and demonstrable technical expertise and experience across multiple and relevant SAP software products spanning applications, analytics and cloud products with a focus on new technologies, their development and delivery.  Likely to have a minimum of 10 years of work experience in the configuration, installation and management of application platforms, development, process management and integration, interface management, application lifestyle management and migrations and is a recognised specialist in new technologies and the delivery of technology services.  Can demonstrate delivery excellence for self and team.

 

•         Is able to communicate, influence, convince and inspire effectively by own personality and act as a trusted role model and advisor within own field of expertise.  Demonstrates gravitas and personal integrity, quickly builds trust and reputation.

 

•         Is most likely the holder of a senior post, delivers a technical function and can take responsibility for special, politically driven projects and tasks.  Also, an externally valued expert for a specific area of expertise, initiates innovative developments, responsible for internal and external knowledge transfer.

•         Proven and demonstrable track record of successfully delivering customer projects and providing solutions for the resolution of complex issues.

 

•         Strong interpersonal and soft skills, able to quickly develop relationships with all stakeholders; within NTT Data Business Solutions locally and globally, external customers, suppliers and partners to become a trusted advisor at senior level.

•         Experienced with the management of budgets and targets.  Demonstrates strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

•         Recognises business risks in detail and complexity.  Clarifies and escalates as required.  Is able to translate key complex technical issues into common business language.

•         Demonstrates the ability to be an agent for transformation and have the vision to turn current business processes upside down.  An influencer and owns their opinion, demonstrating an ability to articulate the future of the development and delivery of new technologies.

•         Is able to operate in a matrix management environment.
