POSITION DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY

 

The GMS Pre Sales Cloud Consultant for the Global team is a pivotal role with responsibility for the management of the GMS sales bid process.  As an integral part of the sales team and working closely with Sales, Global Delivery Centres, Managed Cloud Product Management and Delivery Management, you will act as subject matter expert, adding value to the bid and GMS by providing this expertise throughout the sales process and ultimately delivering sales to ensure the company meets revenue and margin targets.

Primary         

The successful candidate and role holder will provide presales support and consultation services for SAP Managed Service requests focussing on SAP Managed Cloud Services (Private and Public Cloud).

Responsibilities and Expectations

Technical skills:

 

    • background in SAP BASIS and HANA
    • Hands on system migrations 
    • experience with a range of SAP products 
    • Experience with a range of OS / DB combinations
    • understanding of SAP integration approaches
    • SAP on Azure and/or AWS
    • IT  architecture skills in including non SAP systems
    • HA and DR approaches, virtualization and networking
    • SAP system sizing
    • cost optimization

 

 

NON-technical skills:

 

    • Customer facing consulting background up to CxO level
    • Writing contracts
    • Responding to RFI / RFQ
    • Opportunity / pipeline management
    • Reporting / forecasting

 

The GMS Pre Sales Cloud Consultant will own the management and co-ordination of our bid teams for the development of customer-specific solutions and take responsibility for:

•           The requirement analysis of tenders and the inventory of the SAP infrastructure and data centre landscape of our customers.  Put together business cases for the Sales teams to support their proposals.  Create winning bids.

•           The creation and orchestration of compliant and tailor-made global managed cloud delivery concepts.

•           Working closely with customers to understand and capture their requirements leading to the production of accurate calculations of services and the creation of quotation documents to meet and exceed customer expectations.  Ensure that proposition is “joined up,” meets customer technical specification and delivers intended and expected results.

•           Creating and delivering professional standard product presentations and consultation services for our international clients.

•           The Creation and maintenance of good working relationships with Sales, the Global Delivery Centres, Managed Cloud Product Management, Delivery Management and SAP, working as a team to meet the requirements of the role.

•           Being the primary point of contact for co-ordination of bid reporting and the management of the process

•           Effective communication both internally and externally on all matters concerning the assigned tender and bid process 

•           Engaging in self-directed and other learning to keep pace with new technologies and developments to ensure that GMS remains at the forefront of the market within which we operate.  Share, use and communicate expert knowledge in order to develop others and make business processes more effective.

•           Recognise potential for repeat and extended business with respect to the GMS end-to-end service offer and provide input.  Develop and escalate.

PERSONAL PROFILE – SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

 

  • Likely to have 3-5 years of professional work experience in a fast evolving solutions market and is a recognised specialist in SAP presales environment, sound knowledge of IT infrastructures and cloud services.    Experience across multiple and relevant SAP software products spanning primarily applications, with particular reference to SAP Support.    
  • Fully fluent in spoken and written English, is able to communicate, influence, convince and inspire effectively by own personality.   Act as an ambassador and trusted advisor within own field of expertise.  Quickly builds trust and reputation.
  • Is most likely the holder of a similar position; works to deliver customer orientated thinking combined with great communication and presentation skills with a confident appearance and can take responsibility for assigned customers. 
  • Likely to have successfully completed studies and achieved a degree (B.Hons) in computer science, economics, mathematics or a comparable qualification
  • UK home based but willing to travel internationally (up to 40%)•           
  • Demonstrates strong analytical and problem solving skills and able to comply with process.
  • Works in a team-orientated mode of operation and works well under pressure.  Is able to operate in a matrix management environment.
