Job Title : Power BI Developer

Location : Chennai

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer with hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric, Fabric Lakehouse, Power BI semantic models, Dataflows Gen2, and enterprise BI integrations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing scalable reporting and analytics solutions by integrating data from Fabric Lakehouse, SQL databases, APIs, files, and other enterprise systems.

The role requires strong expertise in Power BI development, data modeling, Direct Lake/DirectQuery connectivity, ETL processes, and performance optimization within the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Development

* Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
* Create reusable semantic models and datasets for enterprise reporting.
* Develop advanced DAX calculations, KPIs, measures, and drill-through analytics.
* Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and workspace governance.

Microsoft Fabric & Lakehouse Integration

* Integrate Power BI with Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse using:
   * Direct Lake connections
   * DirectQuery
   * Import mode
   * Shortcuts and OneLake integrations
* Build and manage Dataflows Gen2 for ingestion and transformation.
* Develop ETL/ELT pipelines using Fabric Data Factory and notebooks where required.
* Connect Power BI with Lakehouse tables, warehouses, and semantic models.

Data Integration & Connectivity

* Integrate data from multiple sources including:
   * SQL Server
   * Azure SQL
   * APIs
   * SharePoint
   * Excel/CSV files
   * Azure Blob Storage
   * SAP/ERP systems
   * Third-party SaaS platforms
* Ensure reliable and secure data refresh mechanisms.

Performance Optimization

* Optimize Power BI reports and Fabric workloads for performance and scalability.
* Troubleshoot semantic model, gateway, and connectivity issues.
* Improve query performance using aggregation, partitioning, incremental refresh, and optimized DAX.

Collaboration & Governance

* Work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and data engineers to understand reporting requirements.
* Follow enterprise BI standards, naming conventions, and deployment processes.
* Support CI/CD and deployment pipelines for Power BI and Fabric solutions.

   * Star schema modeling
   * ETL/ELT processes
   * Azure data services

Preferred Skills

* Experience with:
   * Fabric Pipelines
   * Spark notebooks
   * Python or PySpark
   * Azure DevOps / CI-CD
   * Git integration
* Exposure to enterprise-scale BI implementations.

Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
* 3+ years of experience in Power BI development.
* 1+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or Fabric Lakehouse implementations preferred.

   * PL-300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst
   * DP-600: Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
* Experience in large-scale enterprise data migration or modernization projects.
