Job Description:

Job Title: Server Management (Linux) - Alert Handling Core Team (AHCT) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Linux Server Administrator for the Alert Handling Core Team (AHCT) to drive proactive monitoring, alert optimization, and incident analysis across server and cloud environments supporting SAP landscapes. The role focuses on reducing alerts, improving monitoring effectiveness by identifying the false alarms, and preventing recurring incidents through analysis and automation. Key Responsibilities • Monitor, analyze, and handle repetitive and critical server alerts to ensure system stability • Identify alert patterns and root causes, and drive actions to reduce alert volume and false positives • Perform customer incident analysis and implement preventive measures by identifying the root cause of the incident creation • Design, configure, and fine-tune monitoring and alerting rules for Linux servers and clusters • Optimize monitoring processes and workflows to improve efficiency and response quality • Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to implement permanent fixes • Support SUSE Pacemaker cluster monitoring and alert troubleshooting • Ensure alerts align with business and SLA requirements • Follow ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management • Provide knowledge transfer and guidance to Level 2 support teams Required Skills & Qualifications • 7+ years of hands-on experience in Linux Server Administration • Strong Linux OS operations knowledge (SUSE preferred) • Experience in monitoring, alert handling, and incident analysis • Knowledge of Pacemaker cluster concepts and alerting • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) • Understanding of ITIL processes • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills • Proficiency in written and spoken English • Team player with a continuous improvement mindset Additional Information • Passionate about SAP environments and eager to learn • Ability to link business requirements with effective monitoring solutions
