Job Description: SAP S/4HANA L3 FICO Consultant
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA L3 FICO Consultant to provide advanced functional support, incident resolution, enhancements, and continuous improvement for SAP Finance and Controlling processes. The consultant will serve as the escalation point for complex FICO issues, collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams, and ensure stable, compliant, and efficient SAP S/4HANA operations.
Key Responsibilities
•    Provide Level 3 functional support for SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling modules.
•    Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex production incidents, recurring issues, and root causes within agreed SLAs.
•    Configure and support SAP S/4HANA FICO processes, including:
o    General Ledger Accounting (GL)
o    Accounts Payable (AP)
o    Accounts Receivable (AR)
o    Asset Accounting (AA)
o    Bank Accounting and Cash Management
o    Cost Center Accounting
o    Profit Center Accounting
o    Internal Orders
o    Product Costing and CO-PA / Margin Analysis
o    Tax configuration and statutory reporting support
•    Support period-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations, financial reporting, allocations, settlements, depreciation runs, and foreign currency valuation.
•    Investigate integration issues between FICO and other SAP modules, including MM, SD, PP, PM, PS, and Treasury, as applicable.
•    Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
•    Gather business requirements, prepare functional specifications, and coordinate with ABAP, Basis, Security, and integration teams.
•    Support change requests, minor enhancements, testing, transport management, and deployment activities.
•    Prepare test scenarios, conduct unit testing, support SIT/UAT, and coordinate defect resolution.
•    Ensure adherence to internal controls, audit requirements, financial compliance, and change-management processes.
•    Maintain functional documentation, configuration documents, support knowledge articles, and process flows.
•    Work closely with finance users, business process owners, and external vendors to improve system performance and usability.
•    Participate in SAP S/4HANA upgrades, rollouts, migrations, and transformation initiatives when required.
•    Mentor L1/L2 support resources and provide subject-matter expertise for FICO-related issues.
Required Skills and Experience
•    Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.
•    5–8+ years of SAP FICO functional consulting experience, including significant experience in SAP S/4HANA.
•    Strong hands-on configuration knowledge in SAP S/4HANA Finance and Controlling.
•    Experience providing L3 production support in a global or enterprise SAP environment.
•    Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial closing processes, and controlling processes.
•    Experience with:
o    Universal Journal / ACDOCA
o    New Asset Accounting
o    S/4HANA Finance data model
o    Fiori applications for Finance
o    Parallel ledgers, document splitting, and multi-currency scenarios
o    Intercompany accounting and reconciliation
•    Knowledge of integration points between FICO and MM, SD, PP, and other SAP modules.
•    Ability to write clear functional specifications and work effectively with ABAP developers.
•    Experience with SAP Solution Manager, ServiceNow, Jira, or similar incident/change-management tools.
•    Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
•    Ability to work independently, prioritize critical issues, and manage multiple support requests.
Preferred Qualifications
•    SAP S/4HANA Finance certification.
•    Experience with Central Finance, Group Reporting, Treasury, Cash Management, or SAC financial reporting.
•    Knowledge of SAP Fiori, embedded analytics, CDS views, and reporting tools.
•    Experience in SAP ECC to S/4HANA conversion or greenfield implementation projects.
•    Experience working in Agile, ITIL, or DevOps-based support environments.
•    CPA, CA, CMA, ACCA, or other finance/accounting qualification is an advantage.
