 1. Position Overview

 

The Transition Manager will provide ownership of all activities relating to the successful transition of services for new and existing customers into Managed Services, working in partnership and providing leadership to NTT Data Managed Services functional team of support consultants.  This role has no direct people management responsibility but will provide project ownership and assign tasks to identified SAP support consultants. Reporting to the Project Management & Transition Lead for UK Managed Services, the Transition Manager is responsible for delivering the transition plan, resource assignment; financial forecasting, on time billing and customer satisfaction.

 

2.  Responsibilities

 

2a. Project Ownership

* Define customer specific transition project plans that incorporate end to end processes supported by global systems; full functional transition using the defined templates; successful handover to steady state support.

* Project manage transition activities to successful completion

* Contribute to NTT Data UK growth objectives by providing direction to assigned employees on their tasks within a customer transition plan

* Provide transition related training to other NTT Data personnel

* Clear and timely communication on project status

* Own transition methodology, enhancing as required to encompass new requirements

 

2b. Support Profitability

* Proactively contribute to the effective development and deployment of the ongoing AMS strategy and products by successfully transitioning customers

* Ensure maximising billing opportunities

* Ensuring UK margin is guarded at all times

 

2c. Customer Satisfaction

* Cultivate professional relationships with customers

* Establish credibility and relationships with customer decision makers and end users

* Identify and implement end to end processes for successful transition

* Build strong relationships with management from other UK Line of Business who are also involved with the account in order to present one united NTT Data front and deliver one NTT Data  "solution" (Hosting; Field; Consulting; global offices, etc.)

 

2d. Relationships

*Co-ordination and relationship building with NTT Data Account Managers; Field Project Management, Managed Services Management Team and Global AMS Team

* Cultivate professional relationship with software vendor contacts e.g. SAP

3a. Team Profitability

* Achieve successful transition within contracted agreed timelines

* Minimise non billable and free of charge work

 

3b. Team Leadership

* Provide Resource Management to assigned team

* 100% retention of key resources assigned to plan

* Regular growth of team members (as demonstrated through training, new skill development/delivery; etc.) Feedback development needs for underperformers

 

3c. Customer Satisfaction

* Successful and on time transition

 

3d. Personal Development

* Completion of development objectives as defined in annual performance review

8.   Experience

* Minimum 4 years SAP experience

* Team management

* Cross functional SAP expertise with an ability to talk across the entire application

* Experience across multiple industries

* Ability to lead strategic workshops / discussions with clients

* SAP support (client or consulting) experience

 

9.  Education

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent

 

10. Location

* Primarily home based, but flexible to working from customer site if the role requires from time to time; travel to customer sites and offices for internal and external meetings on an ad-hoc basis.
