Senior Director, Consulting

Position Description:

As the People Leader for a team of consultants specializing in SAP functionality, business process, and industry at NTT DATA Business Solutions, your primary role is to support, develop, and guide a team of consultants. You will be instrumental in cultivating their talents, ensuring the delivery of SAP projects, and promoting a collaborative team and client-focused environment.

The Consulting Director is responsible for supporting consultant project team members through hiring, coaching and enablement on SAP solutions, business acumen, industry knowledge and professional skills.  The Consulting Director will align with the PMO, Industry Solution Principals, Solution Architects, Senior Leadership, and other Consulting Directors to ensure the on-going competencies needed for the consulting team members to be successful.

1. People/Team Leadership

• Lead, inspire, and empower a team of consultants, establishing clear performance expectations and goals.
• Collaborate with Consultants to identify challenges, mitigate risks, and enhance project performance with considerations for client and overall team delivery expectations
• Uphold best practices and standards for project delivery being sure the consultants are trained, enabled, and supported.
• Cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.
• Provide mentorship and support to team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
• Engage with other consulting directors and managers in establishing employee focused programs. Key goal will be to create a stable environment for the consulting organization, allowing for growth and sustainability.
• Execute regular communications protocol for the consulting organization.

• Oversee employee development and help consultants acquire deep knowledge of industry requirements and SAP products/solutions
• Build strong relationships with SAP solutions and product management to understand and communicate strategic direction
• Evaluate new consulting candidates within the business process expertise while working with recruiting and staffing for optimal hiring decisions
• Execute employee review process in a timely and effective manner providing a forum for open dialog where frank and honest discussions regarding career path, compensation, and morale can be discussed. 
• Ensure reporting consultants are in alignment and adhering to company policies regarding time recording, PTO, year-end processes, and conflict resolution.

2. Consulting

• Active involvement in the recruiting process including evaluating resumes, interviewing resources and determining appropriate position and salary
• Implement improvements that result in revenue and EBITA growth
• Represent the company internally and externally and support the acquisition of new business
• Knowledge of NDBS workforce to assist in delivering the right resources to meet specific customer and project demands
• Act as a leader in understanding NDBS methodology and provide guidance to the team for successful project delivery
• Execute thought leadership and influence of managers and employees
• Support presales activities when and where necessary
• Achieve personal billable utilization targets

3. Self-Development

• Relationship building with leaders/experts throughout the organization
• Continue to be knowledgeable of SAP direction with ongoing personal development
• Thought leadership – white papers, blogs, conferences & webinars

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent experience; Advanced degree or SAP Certifications are a plus.
2. Proven experience (typically 10+ years) in related industry or in a consultant, client facing role in SAP functionality, project management or project delivery, with a strong record of success.
3. 5+ years of experience managing multiple resources.
4. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
5. Proficiency in managing multiple priorities concurrently.
6. Firm understanding of industry knowledge and business processes.
7. Aptitude for learning latest SAP trends.
8. Ability to motivate, inspire, lead and provide enablement opportunities for a large group of consultants.
9. Communicate as Trusted Advisor to C-Level Client and NDBS Executives

• Provide inspiration and motivation to support the team achieving both their individual and group potential.

The annual base compensation range for this role will be $187,037.00 - $288,919.00.  The exact compensation at which this job is filled will be determined by a number of factors including but not limited to organizational needs and the qualified candidate’s skill set, certifications, and experience.
