Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior SAP Archiving / Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) Consultant with 8+ years of hands-on experience in SAP data archiving, retention management, and data privacy compliance. The consultant will lead the design, implementation, and support of SAP Archiving and ILM solutions across SAP landscapes, ensuring database growth optimization, regulatory compliance, and secure management of business data.

Key Responsibilities:
•    Lead end-to-end implementation of SAP Data Archiving and SAP ILM solutions.
•    Assess database growth, identify archiving opportunities, and define archiving roadmaps.

•    Configure and execute archiving objects across SAP modules such as FI, CO, MM, SD, PP, PM, HCM, CRM, and others as required.
•    Design and implement SAP ILM policies for data retention, retention management, legal holds, and data destruction.
•    Configure and support Archive Development Kit (ADK), ArchiveLink, content repositories, and WebDAV-based storage where applicable.

•    Define data retention requirements in collaboration with business, legal, compliance, and security teams.
•    Perform archiving object analysis, write/delete job scheduling, preprocessing, postprocessing, reload, and retrieval activities.
•    Integrate SAP Archiving/ILM with content management and storage systems, including OpenText or other third-party repositories.

•    Support SAP S/4HANA archiving and ILM initiatives, including S/4HANA-specific data volume management considerations.
•    Develop and maintain technical design documents, functional specifications, test scripts, and operational runbooks.
•    Troubleshoot archiving job failures, repository issues, performance bottlenecks, and data retrieval issues.

•    Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR and organizational data-retention policies.
•    Work closely with Basis, Security, Functional, ABAP, Infrastructure, and business teams.
•    Provide effort estimates, lead workshops, mentor junior consultants, and act as the primary SME for SAP Archiving and ILM.

Required Skills & Experience:
•    8+ years of experience in SAP Data Archiving and SAP ILM.
•    Strong hands-on experience with SAP archiving configuration and execution using standard archiving objects.

•    Expertise in SAP ILM components, including:
•    ILM Retention Management
•    ILM Store

•    Retention rules and policies
•    Legal hold management
•    Data destruction

•    SAP Information Retention Manager, where applicable
•    Experience with ADK, ArchiveLink, SARA transaction, and archive administration.
•    Strong understanding of SAP data volume management and database growth optimization.

•    Experience with SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA environments.
•    Knowledge of content repositories, storage systems, WebDAV, and third-party archiving platforms such as OpenText is preferred.
•    Experience in archiving data from key SAP functional modules, especially FI/CO, MM, SD, HCM, and logistics modules.

•    Ability to analyze business and technical data-retention requirements and translate them into SAP ILM configurations.
•    Familiarity with SAP Basis concepts, background job management, transport management, and system performance analysis.
•    Strong troubleshooting, analytical, stakeholder-management, and communication skills.
