SAP Basis Migration & Upgrade Expert

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced SAP Basis Migration & Upgrade Expert responsible for planning, executing, and managing SAP system migrations, upgrades, and conversions across complex landscapes. The role requires strong expertise in heterogeneous and homogeneous system migrations, SAP S/4HANA system conversions, and high availability (HA) / disaster recovery (DR) architecture. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring stable, secure, and optimized SAP environments during transformation and modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

SAP Migration & Conversion

• Lead and execute SAP system migrations including:
• Homogeneous System Copy (OS/DB same)
• Heterogeneous System Copy (OS/DB migration)
• SAP S/4HANA system conversion (Brownfield)
• Landscape transformation projects
• Plan and execute migrations using tools such as SWPM, SUM with DMO, and Migration Monitor.
• Perform Unicode conversions and database migrations where applicable.
• Conduct pre-checks, readiness assessments, and migration planning.

SAP Upgrade Management

• Plan and execute SAP NetWeaver and SAP S/4HANA upgrades.
• Perform SUM upgrade activities including SP/EHP upgrades.
• Manage downtime optimization strategies.
• Coordinate with functional and technical teams during upgrade cycles.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery

• Design and implement SAP High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
• Configure and maintain cluster setups for SAP systems.
• Implement database replication and DR strategies.
• Conduct DR drills and failover testing.

SAP HANA Administration

• Install, configure, and administer SAP HANA databases.
• Monitor HANA performance and optimize system resources.
• Manage HANA backups, recovery, and system replication.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 8+ years of SAP Basis administration experience.
• Strong expertise in:
• SAP S/4HANA migration and conversion
• Homogeneous and Heterogeneous system copies
• SUM with DMO
• SWPM
• Hands-on experience with SAP HANA database administration.
• Experience in cluster setup and DR implementation.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems.
• Experience with SAP Solution Manager and monitoring tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with cloud migrations (AWS, Azure, GCP) for SAP workloads.
• Knowledge of automation and scripting (Shell, Python).
• SAP certifications in SAP Basis, SAP HANA, or S/4HANA.
• Experience in large enterprise SAP landscapes.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Ability to manage high-pressure migration/upgrade windows.
