Job Description:

Job Summary:
The AMS Release Manager oversees the end-to-end release management process for SAP and related enterprise applications. This role ensures timely, high-quality, and compliant delivery of changes, enhancements, and fixes into production environments, while coordinating across development, QA, infrastructure, and business teams.
Key Responsibilities:
🔄 Release Planning & Coordination
Develop and maintain a release calendar for SAP AMS environments.
Plan and coordinate release activities across multiple applications and teams.
Lead Go-Live planning and execution, including deployment checklists and rollback strategies.
✅ Governance & Compliance
Chair the Release Review Board (RRB) and ensure all approvals are in place.
Enforce release policies, standards, and procedures.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements (e.g., HIPAA, SOX).
🔍 Quality Assurance
Collaborate with QA teams to validate test coverage and results.
Conduct release readiness and milestone reviews.
Ensure completeness of transports and documentation.
🔧 Change & Incident Management
Manage change requests and coordinate with Change Approval Board (CAB).
Oversee incident resolution related to release failures or post-deployment issues.
Drive root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
📊 Monitoring & Reporting
Track release metrics (e.g., success rate, rollback frequency).
Report on release performance, trends, and improvement opportunities.
Maintain release repository with build procedures, dependencies, and logs.
👥 Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for AMS-related release activities.
Coordinate with business analysts, developers, infrastructure, and support teams.
Facilitate communication between IT and business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
4+ years of experience in SAP AMS or IT service management.
Proven experience in release management for enterprise applications.
Familiarity with SAP transport management and change control processes.
Preferred Skills:
ITIL v3/v4 certification.
Experience with Agile/DevOps environments.
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
