Kubernetes Platform Architect

Role description:

As a Kubernetes Platform Architect, you will shape the future of our enterprise Kubernetes landscape, driving architecture, governance, security, and automation across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

In this strategic role, you will work closely with infrastructure, cloud, security, DevOps, application, and AI engineering teams to build scalable, resilient, and future-ready platforms supporting both business-critical and AI-powered workloads.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Design and evolve enterprise-grade Kubernetes platform architectures across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
• Define platform standards, governance models, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps.
• Lead cloud-native transformation initiatives and drive the adoption of modern platform engineering practices.
• Architect highly available, scalable, secure, and resilient Kubernetes platforms.
• Define multi-cluster management strategies and governance frameworks using Rancher and related technologies.
• Design networking and storage architectures for enterprise Kubernetes environments, including traffic management, connectivity, segmentation, and persistent storage solutions.
• Establish standards for CI/CD, GitOps, Infrastructure-as-Code, and platform automation.
• Define platform security, observability, reliability, and operational excellence principles.
• Provide architectural guidance for cloud-native applications, microservices, data platforms, and AI-powered workloads.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, DevOps, and AI engineering teams to enable scalable and future-ready platform solutions.

Skills and experience you will need:

• 8+ years of experience in Infrastructure, Cloud, Platform Engineering, or Systems Architecture roles.
• 5+ years of experience designing Kubernetes platforms in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes architecture, Linux, container technologies, and cloud-native ecosystems.
• Proven experience defining architecture standards, governance models, and platform roadmaps.
• Experience designing highly available, scalable, and secure Kubernetes environments.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes networking, including cluster connectivity, traffic management, ingress solutions, load balancing, and network segmentation.
• Experience architecting persistent storage solutions for Kubernetes platforms.
• Experience with Rancher and multi-cluster Kubernetes management strategies.
• Experience designing Kubernetes platforms on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and/or Amazon EKS.
• Experience defining CI/CD, GitOps, Infrastructure-as-Code, and platform automation standards.
• Strong understanding of Kubernetes security, observability, and platform reliability principles.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence technical and business stakeholders.
• Fluent English.

Nice to have

• Experience with Longhorn, Harbor, Fleet, Cilium, MetalLB, NGINX Ingress, Traefik, or Kube-VIP.
• Experience supporting AI/ML workloads and GPU-enabled Kubernetes environments.
