Role Summary
The Bid Management Lead is accountable for leading end-to-end bid and proposal management for services and solutions pursuits. This role owns pursuit governance, planning, and quality of all RFP/RFI/RFQ responses, ensures on-time submissions, and drives a consistent, competitive story across opportunities. The Bid Management Lead will lead, mentor, and guide a team of bid management consultants who report into this role, while partnering closely with Sales, Presales, Solutioning, Delivery, Finance, Legal, and Marketing.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead the end-to-end bid lifecycle across pursuits (RFPs/RFIs/RFQs, proactive proposals, renewals), setting overall response strategy, timeline, and governance
• Manage, mentor, and coach the bid consultant team; allocate work, set priorities, and ensure consistent execution, quality, and stakeholder coverage
• Own pursuit governance: define win themes, response architecture, section plans, compliance matrix, review cadence, and sign-off checkpoints
• Drive cross-functional alignment with Sales, Presales, Solution Architects, Delivery, Finance, Legal, Security/Compliance, and Marketing to secure timely, accurate inputs
• Set content quality standards and perform/drive final QA for compliance, responsiveness, messaging consistency, formatting, and submission readiness
• Lead reuse and content management: curate approved assets (case studies, references, CVs, standard answers) and drive continuous improvement through lessons learned
• Partner with pursuit leadership on deal shaping: bid/no-bid inputs, win strategy, differentiators, pricing narrative, and executive summaries
• Oversee proposal production and submission (portals/procurement platforms), ensuring version control, approvals, and on-time delivery
• Drive adoption of RFP automation and GenAI tools to improve productivity, consistency, and compliance (while ensuring content review and approvals)
• Establish and maintain pursuit trackers and dashboards and provide regular leadership updates
• Own proposal knowledge management across platforms
Required Skills & Experience
• 7+ years of experience in bid/proposal management
• Strong understanding of SAP services/solutions pursuits and typical enterprise procurement and RFP processes
• Proven ability to lead complex, multi-workstream pursuits with tight timelines, senior stakeholders, and multiple contributors
• Excellent executive communication and storytelling skills (written and verbal), with strong attention to detail and quality
• Strong leadership, coaching, and delegation skills
• Expertise in bid governance practices (compliance matrix, review cycles, version control, approvals) and continuous improvement/lessons learned
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams) and proposal tooling (SharePoint repositories, RFP/Q&A tools, and/or GenAI assistants)
