Product Owner - MAKIRA E‑Invoice

E‑invoicing is evolving fast—and compliance is just the baseline. As Product Owner for MAKIRA E‑Invoice, you’ll own and grow our global e‑invoicing capability, helping customers meet regulatory mandates while achieving real automation across SAP and non‑SAP landscapes.

MAKIRA E‑Invoice is part of our broader MAKIRA platform for document management and AP automation, trusted by customers worldwide. You’ll set direction, prioritize delivery, and make sure what we ship is compliant, reliable, and genuinely useful.

What you’ll do:

• Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for MAKIRA E‑Invoice
• Translate regulatory changes, customer needs, and market insights into clear releases
• Design and oversee end‑to‑end inbound and outbound e‑invoicing flows
• Work hands‑on with standards such as UBL / EN 16931 (XRechnung, ZUGFeRD/Factur‑X), PEPPOL BIS, and NemHandel
• Shape and approve XML/XSD mappings and Schematron validation rules, including versioning and regression handling
• Facilitate or act as responsible concultant of MAKIRA E-Invoice implementations
• Guide integrations with SAP FI‑AP/MM (IDocs, APIs, AIF) and non‑SAP systems (REST/SOAP, file‑based)
• Ensure strong operational readiness: monitoring, exception handling, audit trails, release notes
• Align closely with Engineering, Delivery, Support, Sales, and Customer Success
• Track product success through KPIs like straight‑through posting, first‑time‑right, latency, and adoption
• Maintain a living compliance matrix aligned with country mandates and regulatory timelines

What we’re looking for:

You likely have:

• 3+ years of experience with e‑invoicing and XML‑based business documents
• Hands‑on knowledge of EN 16931/UBL formats, PEPPOL, and NemHandel
• Strong skills in XML, XSD, and Schematron
• Working understanding of SAP FI‑AP/MM and AP automation processes
• Experience as a Product Owner—or a clear ambition to step into the role
• Clear and confident English communication skills

Nice to have:

• SAP S/4HANA, SAP Document Compliance/eDocument, message brokers
• Experience with additional countries or platforms (e.g. KSeF, FatturaPA, FacturaE, Finvoice)
• Familiarity with Agile delivery and tools like Postman, Git, and XML testing tools
